10th January,2019

On January 10, 2019, in the Russian Center of Science and Culture (RCSC) in Kathmandu, together with the participation of the Bal Mandir orphanage (Children’s Temple), sponsored by RCSC, a festive program was traditionally organized to celebrate the New Year in Russia for children.

The RCSC in Kathmandu has sponsored the Bal Mandir orphanage for several years, organizing various charity events for the children each year, introducing them to the traditions and culture of Russia.

This year, as part of the New Year's commemoration, the children were shown a theatrical miniature based on one of the folk tales of the Ural region of Russia by P.P. Bazhov "Stone Flower". The drama was timed to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the folklorist writer. The performance was organized jointly with the theater studio under RCSC "Shailee" (Style). The festive program at RCSC was aimed at creating a festive mood.

After the drama, the director of the RCSC, Yulia Alexandrovna Androsova, addressed the children and their teachers with New Year and Christmas greetings and wishes, first of all to the teachers, thanking them for the big and important work they do and for the children, wishing them to be inquisitive, good friends of students and always be ready for mutual help.

The celebration ended with the distributing of sweet and gifts from Santa Claus and traditional photograph at the Christmas tree with the staff of the RCSC.

In total, more than 80 children took part in the program, who each time eagerly wait for the new year to come to the RCSC and Christmas tree, and adults, in turn, try to create an atmosphere of fairy tales and a holiday for children, to bring the magic of warm relationships, joy and love.
