About the seminar on Russian – Nepalese relations

   On July 11, 2019, a workshop was held at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in conjunction with the Nepal Russia Friendship and Cultural Association, timed to the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.

   The event was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of Russia in Nepal Yu. I. Yuzhaninov. In his speech, he highlighted the latest developments in political, cultural and economic relations between Russia and Kathmandu, as well as the prospects for further expansion of bilateral relations in the fields of trade, investment and tourism.

   Ms. Yulia Androsova, Director of RCSC gave her welcoming remarks to the guests, among which were representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Nepal, Former Ambassadors and Diplomats of Nepal, members of the Parliament of Nepal and Representatives of Partnership, Business, Members of the Advisory Board and the Executive Committee of Nepal. She shared with those present information about the main activities of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Nepal.

   Also in her speech, the Director of RCSC spoke about the most priority areas of RCSC activities, the results achieved so far and the forecasts of the mission's activities in the near future.

   Then the discussion continued with a report by Professor Mohan Lohani on the strengthening and development of bilateral diplomatic relations between Russia and Nepal, on building up tourism potential and on expanding cooperation between countries in various sectors and areas.

   Director of the Department of Europe and America of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Nepal G. Bhandari, who attended the seminar, expressed the opinion on the need for contacts between the leaders of our countries, as well as the intensification of cooperation on a mutually beneficial basis of Russian and Nepalese economic structures.

   At the end of the event, a briefing was organized on current and most significant topics of relations between Russia and Nepal.
