Photo exhibition "Viktor Vasnetsov and the Era"

On October 5, 2018 in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Kathmandu (RCSC) an exhibition of photo reproduction “V. M. Vasnetsov and the Era "in honor of the 170th anniversary of the great Russian artist Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov was held.

Director of the RCSC Yulia Androsova delivered a welcome speech addressed to the visitors of the exhibition, including Sushma Rajbhandari, director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Nepal, representatives of the creative intelligentsia of Nepal, representatives of Nepalese historical museums, as well as graduates of Mitra Kuna and compatriots. Yulia Androsova briefly told the story of the life of the great artist, as well as the story of the creation of some of the most famous works of the author, the originals of which are in museums of the Russian Federation.

During the exhibition, the works of the great Russian painter and artist, the master of historical and folk art were the most recognizable among the foreign public. The exhibition held at the RCSC did not leave visitors indifferent, as seen from the comments left in the RCSC visitor’s book. Each of them was able to get a little familiar with the native Russian folklore, to touch the history of Russia, and at the end of the exhibition a buffet was organized.

It was also worth noting that vivid impressions were left for the little connoisseurs and lovers of Russian art. The day after the opening of the exhibition, 2 Russian fairy tales were presented for children: “Alyonushka and Brother Ivanushka” and “Three Bogatyrs”. The illustrations of which became famous paintings by V.M. Vasnetsov.
