30 Years of the Association of Russian Compatriots in Nepal
On September 29, a solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the "Association of Russian Compatriots in Nepal" (ARCN) was held in the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Kathmandu.
The event started with the history of the Association, which was presented in the form of presentation by the president of ARCN Natalia Oli. A speech was delivered by the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Russian Federation in Nepal Y. Yuzhaninov who congratulated all compatriots living in Nepal on the occasion of 30th anniversary, presenting a bouquet of flowers to the president of ARCN Natalia Oli and a memorable gift to ARCN.
The highlight of the event was the fashion show in the Russian-Nepalese theme, which was represented by bright and beautiful outfits by the compatriots.
Also, diplomas were awarded at the event, and Russian-Nepalese couples who had lived together for more than 25 years were awarded medals.
One of the compatriots presented the ARCN page on the Russian-language site "Nepal-portal", where anyone can post news or advertisement.
The RCSC in Kathmandu brought together small performers of the Rodnichok circle, the children of compatriots and employees of the Russian Embassy in Nepal made a unique program - "The Music ABC" which was greeted with a standing ovation by the guests.
Female members of the association performed several Russian songs, and at the end of the program audience enjoyed a Russian song performance.
The main hosts of the event were Yulia Androsova, Director of the RCSC in Kathmandu and Natalia Oli – president of the ARCN.
At the end of the event, the Director of the RCSC congratulated everyone, thanked for their presence.
