Poetry evening dedicated to the Victory Day in the Second World War

On May 8, 2019, a poetry evening dedicated to Victory Day was organized jointly with the Nepal – Russia Literary Society at Russian Centre of Science and Culture.

During the event, Soviet military songs were performed with subtitles in the Nepali language, as well as patriotic songs were also performed.

The guests were greeted by the staff of the RCSC, who presented photographic exhibitions placed in the lobby on the themes: “There is such a profession - to defend the Motherland” and “Turning Point 43rd”, which used documentary photographs of the fighting of the Red Army against the fascists of the Kursk battle.

Prof   Dr. Jangab Chauhan, President of Nepali Russia Literary Society highlighted about World War II and Russian Literature and he also recited poem “Wait me” by the poet Konstantin Simanov with Nepali Translation. He also thanked the members of the Nepal-Russia Literary Society for their significant contribution to the development of cultural ties between Russia and Nepal in the fields of literature and culture.
