On December 12, 2020, the RCSC in Kathmandu hosted a country conference of compatriots permanently residing in Nepal on the topic: “Association of Russian Compatriots in Nepal during the pandemic: problems, results and plans for the future”.
At the beginning of the meeting, the director of the RCSC Yulia Androsova and the wife of the Russian Ambassador to Nepal A.B. Novikova greeted those present, thanked for close cooperation in holding joint events and expressed a wish for further cooperation in various fields.
President of the Association of Russian Compatriots in Nepal (hereinafter - ARSN) N. L. Oli made a brief speech summarizing the outgoing year, noting that due to the difficult sanitary and epidemiological situation in Nepal, it was very difficult for everyone. Due to the restrictive measures imposed by the Government of Nepal, it was impossible to hold joint events in person for a long time. However, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Nepal and members of ARSN managed to establish close cooperation on the fields of social networks and hold large-scale events in the “Online” format. The most significant of which were the “Immortal Regiment”, the celebration Of the Day of the Russian language, the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty, and the day of National Unity, on the occasion of which a children's drawing contest was organized. At the end of the meeting, A. B. Novikova gave N. L. Oli memorable gifts for children who actively participated in all competitions that were jointly held remotely this year.
At the end of the meeting, the compatriots asked and discussed questions, as well as made suggestions for further cooperation with RCSC and the Russian Embassy in Nepal.
The event ended with a traditional tea party and informal communication.
