On November 12, 2018, the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Kathmandu organized an event dedicated to the 200th birth anniversary of the Russian realist writer, poet, essayist, playwright and translator I. In her welcoming speech, the director of the RCSC, Yulia Androsova, spoke about the great role of I. S. Turgenev, not only in Russian, but also in world literature. In the course of literary recitation that were held as part of this event, participants and organizers of the event recited poems by I. S. Turgenev in the prose “Russian Language” and “Dog” in Nepali and Russian languages.
