Days of Russian cuisine in Nepal

    On April 5, 2019, Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Nepal, together with the Embassy of the Russian Federation, inaugurated a festival entitled “Day of Russian Cuisine” with the participation of the famous Russian Chef Denis Perevoz, which will last inclusive until April 12 this year.

    A gala dinner in honor of the opening of the festival was organized on April 6. A large-scale culinary and entertainment show was prepared for the guests, among which were representatives of the foreign diplomatic corps, intellectuals, representatives of the major media, as well as everyone who wanted to discover traditional Russian dishes. The team of the Chef prepared more than 17 dishes, including such well-known in Russia as "Okroshka", "Aspic", "Vinaigrette", "Fire cutlets", "Pancakes", which the Chef personally prepared for everyone in the open kitchen, "Medovik", "Bird's milk" and many others.

    The evening entertainment program for the guests included Russian folk dances, songs, piano, classical modern Russian musical works, as well as fire show and other performances.

    The teams of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and RCSC express special gratitude to compatriots permanently residing in Nepal for their help in organizing and conducting the event.

    Special attention at the event was paid to the “Russian Corner”, where traditional Matryoshka toys, wooden dishes of Khokhloma, Semenov and other murals, a samovar and other household items typical of traditional Russian cuisine were presented.

    The food festival will continue until April 12, 2019 at the Radisson Hotel and will be completed with a master class on cooking 7 traditional Russian dishes from Chef Denis Perevoz.
